Twilight Time

May 22, 2013

It’s finally outdoor entertaining time!  How do you update your outdoor space for summer? Any go-to tools for dining and hosting outdoors? Below are some of my very favorite spaces seen around the web lately and some things I think make hosting easier, as well as the big purchases that will go a long way. Enjoy!

outdoor

ONE: I loved the great space done by The Hunted Interior for Home Depot’s recent Style Challenge. She actually stenciled those awesome floors herself! TWO: If you have a large enough space I love the idea of a sitting area and dining area, like this one from Because It’s Awesome. Plants and greenery on side tables are a nice touch. THREE: This sweet sitting area designed by Coco Cozy is adorable, an outdoor rug really makes a space a lot more comfortable and stylish. Here are some things to make your space more beautiful and entertaining as simple as possible.

Outdoor entertaining

ONE: Glow in the dark paint for awesome looking planters that add nice ambiance. TWO: Placemats are a better alternative to a table-cloth or eating right off an outdoor table. I love these from Chilewick, they are vinyl making them super easy to clean. Another option are paper placemats, like these which I own and love! THREE: Add ambiance and keep the bugs away with citronella candles. I liked these garden flares, which would be great for a smaller outdoor space that has planters. FOUR: Rectangular serving platters like these are great for indoor and outdoor entertaining. You can serve food on them, use them as a base for a centerpiece or place condiments on them. FIVE: I love the idea of getting an outdoor rug that might be a little bolder or trendier than what you might put in your home. SIX: I love carts, this one would be perfect for  getting everything organized and can also serve as a bar.
