Guest Post- Rustic Textile Looks from Arcadian Lighting

May 30, 2012

Good morning- handing the reigns over to Mari from Arcadian Lighting for some insights on using rustic textiles. Thanks Mari!

Hi, I’m Mari from Arcadian Lighting, a fabulous online place for light fixtures and lighting ideas and trends. As part of my job, almost every day I get to visit amazing blogs like Courcy Inspired Design to do guest posts.

Today, the topic at hand is using rustic textiles around the home. More and more we’re seeing creative folks adding rustic elements like textiles and hanging lanterns to just about every interior design style and in any room of the house. Thanks for letting me share with you. Please enjoy!

Rugs, both new and antique are gorgeous rustic textiles that can bring an appealing global feel into a home. This beautiful green kitchen with wood flooring is made even more lovely by the addition of four pale rugs.

Grain, feed and flour sacks are especially popular for rustic toss pillows right now. I really like the stripes on these and the rustic informal look of the upholstery in this living space.

Rustic textiles, antique rug, Ikat pillow and Moroccan wedding blanket, bring an appealing ethnic vibe to this small bedroom.

Living Room Design with Rustic Textiles

This inviting outdoor living space is filled with rustic textiles. I love the beautiful mix of blue and brown. Outdoor lanterns are the perfect lighting for this space.

Vintage metal pieces and rough textured fabric turned into a gathered skirted add an unexpected rustic feel to this updated utility room.

Designer Andrew Martin is a master of rustic textiles. Here he shows us some of his blue and red ethnic fabrics made into pillows.

Rustic Textiles and Table Decor

Rustic textiles can be used to great effect and show off their elegant side when several patterns in a pale neutral color palette are used to create one stunning display of decorative pillows.

Rustic Textiles in the Bedroom

Even the most elegant of fabrics like sumptuous velvets work exceptionally well with the rough texture of rustic textiles–the muted tapestry pillows make for a lovely contrast here. A formal traditional lamp looks beautiful beside this very contemporary velvet headboard.

    Hello Mari,

Those are very lovely designs. I really love the second picture which is the living room. The lighting is just perfect. I like how termed it as rustic informal look. That is an energy saving room in my opinion.

    Best,
